Description

The Software Process Engineering Metamodel (SPEM) specification from the Object Management Group (OMG) has emerged as the dominant industry standard for describing software development processes. In this webinar we will review some of the challenges in software development process engineering that SPEM was developed to address, before offering a comprehensive review of the main concepts in SPEM such as: process definition elements, element associations, and work breakdown structures. A number of examples will be used to illustrate SPEM concepts and demonstrate its relevance to modeling typical software development processes. This webinar is intended to provide a conceptual overview of SPEM and does not cover the practical approach for developing software development processes. A subsequent webinar titled "Developing a Structured Standards-Based Process Repository" offers a step-by-step approach to developing and tailoring SPEM based processes.
