Integrating Software Engineering, Project Management and Testing Methodologies Webinar   Print E-mail

Description

Typical challenge in software development is not the availability of best practices and methodologies for developing highly efficient software in a predictable manner. From commercial methodologies such as IBM RUP and Fujitsus Macroscope to public domain methodologies like Microsoft Solution Framework (MSF), Unified Process, Scrum, Tmap, PM-BOK, Prince-II, there are plenty of best practices contained in these methodologies for different types of software development projects and technology platforms. Each of these methodologies has a specific focus and does not specialize in all disciplines of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). When teams attempt to create a customized methodology by taking the best from these industry repositories, they are faced with challenges of integrating disparate methodologies - each having its own structure, approach, format and terminology set. With the standardized software process modeling approach such as SPEM (Software Process Engineering Metamodel) and process automation solutions, this approach is made simpler. However, it still requires deep understanding of these methodologies and its mapping to customers unique requirements. This webinar, jointly presented by Atos Origin and Osellus, will outline key considerations for integrating different methodologies. Atos Origin will use a case study where a customized methodology was created by integrating IBM-RUP (software engineering methodology), Tmap (testing methodology) and Prince2 (project management methodology). Osellus will demonstrate how custom methodologies can be easily created and automated or deployed in variety of ways using its IRIS Process Automation Suite.
