The MSF Tailoring Service delivers a tailored version Microsoft Solution Framework (MSF) 4.0 process. Currently Microsoft ships two separate versions - MSF for Agile Software Development and MSF for CMMI Implementation. Customer can select any version as their base methodology for tailoring. In addition to the outputs listed below, the content is delivered in the form of a process template compatible with Microsoft's Visual Studio Team System.

This service may require process Assessment Service to identify areas of tailoring. For more advance tailoring or integration with other existing methodologies, Discovery Service may also be required in order to document the base (AS-IS) process. The choice of MSF ™version is based on your requirements, however, the tailoring service can be used further scale up to meet more process-rigor projects or scaled down to make it more suitable for small projects.

In addition to having more process elements, development of tailored process for CMMI will requires additional effort. Customers opting for MSF for CMMI Implementation will require the development of specific tailoring guidelines, metrics collections and process compliancy. As a result, the efforts required for tailoring will be higher than the estimates shown below.

This service delivers a base process based on MSF™. Additional efforts will be required to create different flavors of the base process for different types of projects. Osellus Professional Services can estimate the efforts that will be required to develop these additional processes.
